Hyderabad: A cyber fraudster who cheated a person of Rs. 17 lakh on pretext of offering loans of Rs. 9 crore at one per cent rate of interest was arrested by the Rachakonda Cybercrime police on Thursday.
Ramesh Elumalai (38), a resident of Tamil Nadu had contacted the sufferer who’s a resident of LB Nagar by way of WhatsApp and guaranteed him a mortgage of Rs. 9 crore for enterprise objective at one per cent rate of interest by way of a financial institution.
“After convincing the sufferer, the fraudster requested him to switch Rs 9 lakh and Rs. 8 lakh to him on completely different situations in direction of processing price and GST. Later, he stopped contact with him,” mentioned ACP Cybercrime S V Hari Krishna.
On a grievance the police booked a case and caught Ramesh in Chennai. He was arrested and remanded. Beforehand, he was concerned in circumstances registered at Cyberabad Cybercrime police station and KPHB police station limits.
